Collingwood forward Jamie Elliott will make a return against Melbourne on Queen's Birthday.

Elliott was a late withdrawal from the round 12 clash due to illness. It is expected he will fully train this week and line up on Monday.

Second-year player Reef McInnes will undergo a shoulder reconstruction later this week after consulting a surgeon. McInnes was subbed out of the game on Sunday during the third quarter.

Brody Mihocek is sore after a knee knock against Hawthorn. Scans have cleared the 29-year-old of any structural damage and will be on light duties until the end of the week. High Performance Manager Jarrod Wade is hopeful he will fully train over the weekend and be available for selection.

Mid-season recruit Ash Johnson has been ticked off to play VFL on limited minutes on Sunday. Wade expects Johnson to play three quarters. 

Charlie Dean edges closer to full training after completing a modified load last week. He is likely to play after the bye round.

Defender Jack Madgen is in a high strength phase and will begin falling to test the shoulder out. 

Ruckman Brodie Grundy is hitting personal bests in the gym (bench press and overhead press) while completing an upper body strength program. Grundy is now out of the knee brace and may begin running later this week.

Forward Nathan Kreuger has a week remaining in the sling after shoulder surgery and has a review with the surgeon in a fortnight.

After having back surgery a number of weeks ago, Tom Wilson has return to the club and is able to complete low level rehabilitation.
