Collingwood has named its squad to take on Richmond in the second annual Charity Shield match at Ikon Park on Wednesday evening at 7:10pm.

Forming part of the AFL’s AAMI Community Series, the practice match will be the Pies’ first opportunity for a full match against AFL opposition.

The Charity Shield supports Foodbank and highlights the issues of food security, with over 69,000 Victorians receiving meals from Foodbank everyday. The first Charity Shield helped Foodbank provide more than 120,000 meals.

It will be the last tune-up for the Magpies prior to Opening Round against the GWS GIANTS on Sunday, March 9.

The Pies will field a near full-strength team for the match, headlined by Captain Darcy Moore, 2024 Copeland Trophy winner Nick Daicos and new recruits Dan Houston, Harry Perryman and Tim Membrey.

Houston, 27, joined the Club through the 2024 trade period following 168 games and two All-Australian selections over eight seasons with Port Adelaide.

Perryman, 25, switched to Collingwood as an unrestricted free agent after 129 games with GWS. The lifelong Magpies supporter finished third in the GIANTS' Best and Fairest in 2020.

Membrey, 30, signed as a delisted free agent last year after booting 293 goals in 179 outings for the Saints.

Tom Mitchell and Mason Cox will miss the clash through injury, Brayden Maynard is being managed, while Jordan De Goey has not been selected.

For fans wanting to see the remainder of the list and the VFL team in action, Collingwood VFL will host Richmond at AIA Vitality Centre at 10am on Thursday, February 27.

Member tickets are available for a $10 donation, while non-members can purchase tickets to the game for $20 via Ticketmaster here. All profits from ticket sales to the match will be donated to Foodbank which will help provide food to Victorians experiencing hardship.

All children aged 14 or under (as of January 1st, 2025) will be able to enter Ikon Park for free, however they must redeem a free junior ticket via Ticketmaster here.

All members and general public must purchase a ticket to the game as scan-in access will not be available. Members can access member pricing by entering their unique barcode on the Ticketmaster site.

Similarly, kids can redeem their free junior ticket via Ticketmaster to enter the game.

The match will be broadcast on Foxtel and Kayo.
