The Collingwood Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Sims as a Director of the Club following the first Board meeting of 2025 held last week.
A lifelong Collingwood supporter, Nick brings a wealth of financial and leadership expertise to the role. He is a Global Partner at Goldman Sachs and serves as the Co-Head of Investment Banking for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).
Nick’s appointment follows Barry Carp’s appointment as Collingwood President, which required him to step away from his role as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee.
In accordance with the Collingwood Football Club Constitution – approved at the 2023 Annual General Meeting – the Board has resolved to increase the size of the Board from seven to eight Directors, and appoint Nick as the eighth Director to fill the casual vacancy created.
Following a process led by the Nominations Committee, Nick was identified as the ideal candidate to join the Board and take on the responsibility of Chairing the Finance and Audit Committee given his extensive experience in finance and risk management. His expertise will be key in guiding the Club’s financial strategy and long-term sustainability, also Chairing the Collingwood Future Fund Investment Committee.
Nick will serve as a Director until the next Annual General Meeting, where he will be eligible for election to a full term.
