Collingwood is pleased to announce that a trio of Magpies have put pen to paper and extended their commitment to the Club.

Tew Jiath, Ned Long and Reef McInnes have signed two-year contract extensions to keep them in black and white until at least the end of 2027.

A Gippsland local, Jiath was selected by Collingwood with Pick 37 in the 2023 National Draft, going on to make his AFL debut in Round 14 against North Melbourne last year.

At 188cm, the defender combines strong endurance with speed. He is best known for his aerial ability, marking and spoiling.

Long, who was first drafted to Hawthorn, arrived at Collingwood as a Mid-Season Rookie Draft selection last year.

After a strong debut in 2024, Long has made ten appearances for the side, including seven consecutive games between Round 17 and 23 during the 2024 season.

After sustaining an ACL injury in Collingwood’s Round 2 game, McInnes’ new deal reflects his growth and development over his past five years in black and white.

McInnes was selected by the Magpies with pick 23 in the 2020 National Draft and has gone onto play 23 games.

General Manager of List and Talent Strategy Justin Leppitsch said the Club was thrilled to have retained the exciting trio.

“We’re pleased to have Reef, ‘TJ’ and Ned extend their contracts with our Club,” Leppitsch said.

“While we are disappointed that we will be without Reef while he overcomes his ACL injury, we have been so pleased with his growth and development, especially through his move to the backline. We know he will bounce back from this setback to establish himself as a regular in our side.

“Throughout his 10 games in the black and white, Ned has emerged from being a rookie to becoming a regular midfielder, which reflects his commitment and dedication to his development.

“’TJ’ showed great promise throughout his first year at Collingwood and we see him becoming a key part of our future backline.

“It’s exciting for our fans to see these three players, alongside Harry DeMattia and Harvey Harrison, who also recently signed, commit to the Club while continuing to take their individual games to the next level.”
