There’s just under a week until the ‘G turns blue for the Queen’s Birthday clash against the Dees and there’s more reasons than ever before to get into the stands.
The last time Collingwood hosted a home game Big Freeze at the 'G with a crowd was in 2018, where we made special tribute to life long supporter and Motor Neurone Disease (MND) fighter Murray Swinton. Murray passed away from MND just a few months later in October 2018.
In 2022, Neale continues to fight but he can’t keep leading the charge. This year, more than ever, we must come together, answer his call and beanie on, “play on” against this Beast. It’s a passing of the baton from Neale Daniher to the Magpie Army.
Side by Side, we’ll work to help raise funds to find the cure for Motor Neurone Disease.
MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS FIGHTING THE BEAST: DONATE NOW
After two years without a slide at the MCG, return the Pies are looking to make a splash – and not just on field against one of the competition’s best.
From Wednesday 1 June, $1 from every general-public reserved seat ticket purchased will be donated to the Big Freeze 8 campaign on behalf of Collingwood fans.
The proceeds are expected to generate thousands of additional dollars for the fundraising campaign that gives FightMND the resources to continue researching to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.
CEO Mark Anderson endorsed the initiative, encouraging others not to underestimate the power of a single dollar.
“As Collingwood fans, we inherently understand what it means to come together to overcome adversity – we call it Side by Side – so we are proud to be partnered with FightMND and the Melbourne Football Club for the Big Freeze campaign each year. We hope this small initiative will create significant impact in the broader campaign for raising these vital funds and inspire others to do the same”
