Vice-captain Taylor Adams is set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines after injuring his knee on Saturday night.

Adams will meet with the surgeon on Monday to determine if going under the knife will be the best course of action to repair a high level medial collateral ligament (MCL) strain.

In positive news, Jordan De Goey, Steele Sidebottom and Nathan Murphy will be available for selection this weekend, while youngster Trent Bianco continues to progress well from knee inflammation and has begun running on the grass on Monday.

Taylor Adams (knee) - Expected return: 10 weeks

  • High level MCL strain. Meeting with surgeon to determine if surgery is required.

Jamie Elliott (lower leg) - Expected return: 8-10 weeks

  • As per last week, Elliott continues to move through low level rehabilitation and strength work. More updates on progress can be provided in 2-3 weeks.

Trent Bianco (knee) - Expected return: 2-4 weeks

  • Has begun running on the anti-gravity treadmill and grass. Monitoring swelling as Bianco progresses, all tracking in the right direction. 

Nathan Murphy (concussion) - Available for selection

  • Passed concussion protocols and will progress through full contact training and be available for VFL selection.

Jordan De Goey (shoulder) - Available for selection

  • Fell on his shoulder during the fourth quarter on Saturday night, scans have cleared De Goey of any damage to the AC joint.

Steele Sidebottom (thumb) - Available for selection

  • Received a knock to his thumb that has previously been fractured. No damage through scans and will be right to go for West Coast on Friday night.
