New recruit Dan Houston will make his Collingwood debut against his former side Port Adelaide on Saturday night at the MCG.

The dual All-Australian joined the Pies in a three-way trade with the Power and the Suns on the second last day of the 2024 trade period.

The 27-year-old played 168 games for the Power after being selected with pick 45 in the 2015 rookie draft.

The defender missed Collingwood's Opening Round match due to suspension.

Houston was one of the key players followed in Collingwood's pre-season documentary series, The Grind, where he discussed the rationale behind his move to the Pies.

“Playing for the biggest club in the land in Melbourne where I’m from is a dream come true," Houston said in the series.

"I’m looking forward to playing for the Pies in 2025."

Head Coach Craig McRae recently expressed his eagerness in having Houston at his disposal in an interview with afl.com.au journalist Damien Barrett.

"We're rapt to have Dan," said McRae.

“I’ve never seen a guy kick the ball as good as him.”

“His penetration is unbelievable. We’re very lucky to have him.”
