No doubt over Didak
Alan Didak didn’t train on Friday, but the club says he’ll play on ANZAC Day
The star forward has laboured with a calf complaint this week but completed a light session behind closed doors on Friday morning before the main group trained on Gosch’s Paddock.
“We’re confident he’ll be right to go,” football manager Geoff Walsh said of Didak.
Injury clouds have also been hovering over fellow forwards Paul Medhurst and Anthony Rocca after both copped heavy knocks in last week’s win over the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba, but they completed the 45-minute session on Friday unhindered.
Teammate Simon Prestigiacomo, who will play his 200th AFL match on the big occasion, was hopeful Didak will be cleared to share his milestone.
"He trained this morning and that's all I really know," he said.
"He'll be given right up to just before we have to put the team sheets in. He didn't train with the group and hopefully he's pulled up all right."
Heath Shaw completed about half the session before retreating to a neighbouring oval where he did light run throughs.
