The first 15 rounds of Collingwood’s 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season fixture have today been announced by the AFL. While the remaining nine matchups are confirmed, the dates and time slots will remain a floating fixture.
How will Collingwood start the season?
Opening Round will see the Pies head up to Sydney to play the GWS Giants at ENGIE Stadium on Sunday afternoon, while Round One Collingwood will welcome Port Adelaide to the MCG on Saturday night.
Three Thursday night thrillers?
Next year Thursday night footy will feature in 23 matches, with the Pies set to play on three Thursday nights in the first half of the draw. A home game in Round Four against Carlton at the MCG, the annual Easter Thursday game against the Brisbane Lions in Round Seven at The Gabba, and Round Nine’s game against Fremantle at Optus Stadium.
What about Friday nights?
The Magpie Army can look forward to four Friday night games, along with five Saturday slots.
When are the Byes?
The team will have a BYE in Rounds Three and 14. The Round Three bye comes after the Opening Round, where all eight participating teams receive a bye game prior to Gather Round to even out the games played ledger.
Two weeks later, Collingwood will host Essendon in the ANZAC Day match at the MCG. It will be the 30th anniversary of the game where the clubs come together to raise awareness and donations for the RSL.
Where are the Pies playing?
Collingwood will play nine home games in front of the Victorian Magpie Army at the MCG, while two home matches are scheduled to be played at Marvel Stadium.
Collingwood supporters in South Australia can enjoy a Gather Round Friday night match against the Sydney Swans at Adelaide Oval.
Collingwood Members and supporters based in New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, and South Australia, will have the opportunity to watch the Pies at home with matches fixtured in these states.
Double up opponents?
The Pies will face the Brisbane Lions, Hawthorn, Carlton, Fremantle, Melbourne and the Adelaide Crows twice throughout the season.
Clashes to watch out for
Opening Round could see Pies recruit Harry Perryman play his first game in black and white against his former club in the GWS GIANTS.
The following week sees Dan Houston potentially line up for his first Collingwood game, also against his former side in Port Adelaide. The Saturday night MCG encounter is sure to be a thriller.
Thursday night football won’t get more exciting than in Round Four when the Pies take on the old rival in Carlton.
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets for Gather Round will go on sale via Ticketek, at 10am on Tuesday 10 December for Club Members and AFL Members. The general public will be able to purchase tickets on Wednesday 11 December at 10am. Ticket on-sale dates for the remainder of the season will be communicated soon.
How can I watch?
Of the fifteen games with confirmed time and date, nine games are confirmed to be broadcast on Channel Seven, with the remaining five to be aired on Fox Footy.
