Heath over hip and getting fit
Heath Shaw is using the pre-season training camp in Arizona as a foundation to get back to full fitness after hip surgery.
The 26-year-old commenced running on day one of Collingwood’s 2011 US camp, which saw the players put through their paces with a challenging session in the Skydome at Northern Arizona University.

“I’m buggered. I chose to do my first running session in altitude and I’m cactus, but I’ll sleep well tonight,” Shaw told CTV.
The 2010 premiership player says he may only be a few weeks away from fully participating in training,
“I’m slowly but steadily easing back into it. Hopefully by the end of this trip I’ll be in full training.”
Shaw has returned to pre-season campaign in excellent condition despite being restricted during the off-season to resting after undergoing surgery shortly after the Magpies fell to the Cats in the grand final at the beginning of October.
“I’ve done absolutely nothing at all. I couldn’t do anything due to the hip, but I’m feeling good.
“I’m feeling refreshed mentally and physically and it’s just great to be here.”
