Recruit Mikayla Hyde well make her Collingwood debut as part of two additions to Sam Wright's side for their Week 10 clash with Narrm (Melbourne) on Saturday afternoon.

Hyde joined the Pies during the 2023 trade period after 29 games for the Fremantle Dockers since debuting in 2021, and has battled a foot injury throughout 2024. 

Her maiden game in black and white comes as a boost for the side in their final game of the season. 

Hyde will be joined by fellow forward Eliza James as an inclusion for Saturday's game, with the 21-year-old overcoming concussion which she sustained in Week Eight against the Kuwarna (Adelaide). 

James sat out last week against Carlton while observing the concussion protocols, but progressed well to become immediately available for this weekend's clash.

The Pies will be looking to close out their 2024 campaign with a win over the ninth-placed Demons, who sit with an even five win, five loss split for the season.

Having opened their 2023 season against the Demons at IKON Park last year, the Pies will close the 2024 addition at the same venue Saturday.

The Week 10 clash is the second week of the AFLW's Indigenous Round, with the Pies wearing a special guernsey designed by Uncle Trevor Davis, father of former Collingwood legend Leon.

The guernsey was first worn by the side’s AFL counterpart during the AFL’s Sir Doug Nicholls Round in May this year, with the inspiration for the guernsey design steming from a piece of art by Uncle Trevor called ‘Healing’.

Uncle Trevor, who is a proud Wadjuk, Ballardong, Wilman, Wongi and Noongar man, created the painting that depicts a healing process which the Club has embarked on over the past few years. 

The first bounce is scheduled for 1:05pm, AEDT.
