Collingwood will blood their eighth and ninth debutant of the season against Port Adelaide on Friday night. 

Irishman Anton Tohill and forward Jack Ginnivan will don the black and white for the first time, with interim coach Robert Harvey announcing the news to the playing group on Wednesday.

Tohill's journey started when he signed as a rookie at the Magpies in 2018, the 200cm defender has been impressing in recent VFL games and will line up in the back six against the Power. 

“He’s after a long journey from Ireland and he has worked really, really hard at his game. He is a 200cm supreme athlete with the ability to run and jump. He has worked hard on aerial craft and can play up forward as well as down back,” Harvey said.

Ginnivan, a product of the Bendigo Pioneers, was Collingwood’s first selection in last year’s Rookie Draft. The 18-year-old has strung together impressive performances in the second-tier competition, with the senior coach saying he's earned selection off the back of 11 goals in three weeks.

"He's a great country kid from Bendigo, really honest," Harvey said.

"He's really popular amongst the boys. He's worked really hard on his game. He's a natural small forward."

Finlay Macrae comes back into the line-up for his sixth AFL game.

Off the short turnaround, veteran Chris Mayne will be managed after a minor ankle roll during the clash against Carlton.

As noted earlier in the week, Callum Brown (shoulder) and Josh Thomas (concussion) were ruled out of round 19, while Will Hoskin-Elliott (back) hasn't got up for the match.

Among the emergencies and in the mix to be named as medical substitute is Mason Cox, Max Lynch, Brayden Sier, and Tom Wilson.
