Pies take on Hawks in round one

Collingwood and Hawthorn will face off in a huge Friday night MCG clash in round one of the 2012 season

Nathan Buckley will make his AFL senior coaching debut against Hawthorn on Friday night at the MCG in round one of the 2012 season.

The AFL has announced that last year's preliminary final foes will take centre stage on Friday night.

The Magpies won through to the 2011 Grand Final after beating Alastair Clarkson's men by just three points in the penultimate week of this year's finals.

The Friday night match is Hawthorn's home game.

The AFL will release the full 2012 fixture on Friday 28 October.
