After four years on Collingwood’s list, Danny Stanley was delisted after the 2009 season.

The midfielder, who was a consistent standout performer in the VFL, was unable to perform at an AFL level.

He earned his final AFL game and just his fifth of his career in the round seven loss to St Kilda.

A hard worker with good endurance, Stanley’s leadership will be missed in the VFL next year.

2009 highlight
Elimination final v Casey Scorpions:  Deemed best on ground by the Magpie coaching staff, Stanley had 24 possessions, nine marks and four goals in the big finals win.  Impressive in the midfield, the 21-year-old applied strong pressure around the stoppages and gave plenty of delivery to his forward line.

Gavin Brown: Played a dynamic brand of footy.  The games that he did play well he dominated which was something he didn’t do last year.
