Elliott injured his hamstring late in Friday night’s loss to Hawthorn while Sinclair hurt his shoulder early in the match.
Interim Football Manager Rodney Eade said that the pair won’t feature in Collingwood’s plans against the Eagles this week.
“Jamie hurt his hamstring late in the game so he was taken off as a precaution and won’t play this week,” Eade told collingwoodfc.com.au.
“Sinclair hurt his shoulder early in the night. He battled on but it caused him to be subbed out of the game at the start of the third quarter and he, too, will miss this week.”
Both Elliott and Sinclair drifted in and out of Collingwood’s side during last year’s finals series, meaning that they will be even more desperate to be fit for selection when the September action starts.
For once, Clinton Young’s hamstring is the good news story.
The former Hawk has endured a terrible run of luck in his first season at the Westpac Centre.
He has played only two senior games and none since he injured his hamstring with only 27 seconds remaining in Collingwood’s win over Adelaide in round 16.
Young’s diligent approach to his recovery has kept his hopes of ending the season on a positive note alive and, should he pass a fitness test later this week, he will join Collingwood’s VFL team against Werribee at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Midfielder Scott Pendlebury is available to play despite receiving a knock to the knee.
