Collingwood star Dale Thomas has visited specialists to discuss the next course of action in his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.

Thomas told collingwoodfc.com.au that he will now be taking a break before returning to consult with more surgeons as he seeks recover from his season-ending injury.

“I saw two specialists – one in Sydney and one in Melbourne – who gave me a few different options. I’m looking forward to getting away now and having some time to take everything all in.

“I’ll come back to Melbourne next week and probably catch up with a couple more surgeons and assess my options in conjunction with the club from there.

“I still feel like I have plenty of good football left in me and I’m looking forward to taking the next step towards getting back out on the field.”

Thomas re-injured his ankle while playing in the VFL against Sandringham last Saturday.
