The AFL has announced that the Carlton Football Club has made an offer to Collingwood's Dale Thomas, who is a restricted free agent.

As a result, Collingwood now has a three day period to determine whether or not it will match the offer.

Thomas has played 157 games for the Magpies since debuting for the club in round one, 2006.
