Collingwoodfc.com.au looks at the players who are set to make a difference in season 2015.

Nathan Freeman
The story so far
It’s still on the first page – and that, in itself, is exciting.

Freeman, who was drafted to Collingwood with the tenth overall selection in the 2013 National Draft, played barely a quarter of football all year.

He injured his hamstring during the Magpies’ NAB Challenge opener against Geelong at Simonds Stadium and was not sighted for the remainder of the season.

Seemingly forever 2-3 weeks away from a return, Freeman was forced to cool his jets before turning his focus towards 2015.

The upside
Freeman has already given supporters reason to track his progress with a keen eye.

He blitzed all comers in the first time trial of the pre-season and then pushed long distance king Steele Sidebottom all the way when all players ran their two kilometre time trial around Olympic Park in December.

Already known for his leg speed and readymade frame, for Freeman to add a strong endurance base means he will be set to put his hand up to make a difference early in 2015.

The stat
Freeman led the Sandringham U18s for inside 50s in his final TAC Cup year despite playing just seven games.

In a nutshell
Still yet to turn 20, Freeman’s energetic approach to his game means he will quickly become a favourite of the Magpie Army. It’s been all green lights so far during the pre-season, meaning he will have put forward a strong case for inclusion in the team’s NAB Challenge squads.
