In a new feature on collingwoodfc.com.au, supporters will recap a player's weekly schedule in 'A week in the life'.??

This week, Ben Reid talks us through what he has done since last week’s match against Carlton.

Saturday
We had our recovery session after the match the night before. I think I got up at about 8am, and I did some weights, walked in the water and went on the bike. Also had a little bit of a massage on some bumps and bruises and that sort of thing from the night before. Then I went straight out for lunch, well, ‘breakfast for lunch’, with a couple of mates. At night I had another dinner with some mates.

Sunday
I slept in, and it was just a day for switching off and doing little things around the house as well as catching up with mates.

Monday
Came into the club at about 9am and had some massage treatment and some breakfast in there as well. I did some more recovery and went into our review of game with Bucks where we go through the game and what went right and what we have to work on. Then we had training, went outside and had a flush session where we have a run around, work on our skills, that sort of stuff. After that, we came in to do line meetings with the assistant coaches. I’m with Ben Hart and we look at all the defenders stuff that we need to work on after the disappointing loss. I spent pretty much the whole day at club. Later when I got home I had dinner, which was chicken and vegetables.

Tuesday
This was a different sort of day with some little touch drills on the sprung floor, tackling practice and some boxing. When we were done we went and did clinics at Vic Park with the kids for AFL Victoria from 1.30pm till 3.30pm, doing a few drills and signing a few autographs for the kids. I had lunch prior to that with Lachlan Keeffe, then he drove me to the clinic and we then picked up Fas (Alex Fasolo) on way. After the clinic, Keeffey dropped me off at club and I headed home. Robbo, my housemate, cooked me a good meal. Robbo is one of two mates I live with who I have known since we were three or four years old. I moved in with them in March, and it’s been really good.

Wednesday
A big day, meaning I came into club at 8am and had breakfast, then I got a massage and a little bit of physio work done as well. Then we had our opposition meeting where Rocket (Rodney Eade) went through Geelong and the way they've been playing. All boys listened to that, then we went out and trained and had a good session out there at Gosch’s Paddock on a very windy day - a good day to test your skills. I always warm up with Tooves. That all started two years ago and it’s just become a habit where we grab each other and we’ve stuck with it ever since. It seems to work. After that, I had a bit of a kick with Ben Hart outside and came inside to do a core session which Mick Dugina (Strength and Conditioning Coach) ran for us.

Afterwards I ate some lunch and a meeting with the AFLPA who came in and spoke to us as a group for half an hour. To finish the day I did a bit of touch with Pendles and Ben Hart on the sprung floor where we played a game we call ‘horse’. It’s basically basketball with a footy, something Pendles and I came up with. Once I got him I went and took my dog, Indie, down to the dog park and let her run around for 30 minutes and threw ball for her. I also went for a walk down at the beach before heading out to have Japanese for dinner with my two housemates. Then we went up the road and saw the movie Ted. It was a cracker, a good four and a half stars out of five.

Thursday
It was our day off, so I had a sleep in before making myself some breakfast and went into the club to get a massage. I went home and did the shopping for the dinner that night. I cleaned up the house a bit and just had a pretty relaxing day. Tomorrow we train and get set for the game against the Cats on Saturday.
