Three of Collingwood’s finest players have been recognised for their outstanding seasons with selection in the AFL’s 40-man All-Australian squad.

Dane Swan, Scott Pendlebury and Travis Cloke were named in the provisional squad from which the All-Australian selectors will name their 22-man team in position this evening.

All-Australian selection is not foreign to the Magpie trio.

Swan is aiming for a berth in the AFL’s team of the year for the fifth consecutive season.

He was named at half forward in 2009 and 2011, as ruck-rover in 2010 and on the interchange bench in 2012.

Fellow midfield champion Pendlebury is on track for his fourth All-Australian gong. He has twice been named on the interchange bench (2010, 2012) and once on centre wing (2011).

As for Cloke, he is back in the reckoning after missing out on selection last year. He was previously named at centre half forward in 2011.

Current coach Nathan Buckley holds the record for the most All-Australian selections by a Collingwood player (seven).
