Collingwood’s VFL practice match schedule has been confirmed.
The team will play four warm up games across Victoria, starting with a match against Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday 14 March.
The VFL Magpies will then meet Richmond at Punt Road Oval a fortnight later, face the Casey Scorpions at Olympic Park on the day of the senior side’s first game of the home and away season before returning to Victoria Park to take on North Ballarat.
Entry to all VFL practice matches is free.
In a reflection of the later start to the football season this year, the first match will be played on the same date that Collingwood opened the 2014 home and away season against Fremantle at Etihad Stadium.

VFL watchers will also enjoy the chance to watch the Magpies on television in round two.
Channel Seven, the new state league broadcaster, will televise its first Collingwood VFL match on 26 April when the Magpies meet Essendon at Windy Hill.
With the practice matches only a month away, the club’s VFL branch is busy arranging its playing list
“We had almost 50 at training when they started back in December, and they’re all competing for 21 spots,” club recruiter Dominic Milesi told collingwoodfc.com.au.
“Most of them are invitees whom we’ve seen in school, TAC or local footy. From then on a lot of it goes on a combination of what the coaches think.
“We watch the VFL team train and also try to balance the list up to make sure we’ve got a variety of positions covered.
“When then have ongoing list management committee meetings where players are discussed and further opportunities come up.
“We’re obviously coming towards the end of our final selection process as we near the practice match time.”
Collingwood has retained the nucleus of its senior VFL players from 2014.
Players such as Ben Moloney, Jack Hellier, Jake Williams, Nick Gray and Trent Cody will be returning again in 2015, while the club has added former Gold Coast utility Jeremy Taylor and ex-Bomber Michael Still to its stocks.
Among those to depart include Nick Riddle, Lachlan Ferguson, Tom Couch, Mat Suckling and Dylan Orval.
