Highly-rated Collingwood youngsters Matthew Scharenberg and Nathan Freeman could re-sign with the club within a fortnight, says General Manager of List Management Derek Hine.
The pair were first round selections for the Magpies at the 2013 National Draft, with Scharenberg picked at No. 6 and Freeman at No. 10.
Injuries have prevented either from making AFL debuts to date.
Speaking on AFL Media's Road to the Draft podcast, Hine hinted that the announcement of new deals was imminent.
"We're working with both managements at the moment so hopefully we get that sorted out in the not-too-distant future," Hine said.
"I spoke to Matthew's management this morning actually."
When asked to offer the podcast an exclusive on either Scharenberg or Freeman, Hine said, "You'll have to get me back on in a couple of weeks".
