Dane Swan is determined to not let last night’s nightmare trip to Sydney be the last game of his career.
Swan spoke to the media on Sunday after suffering suspected fracturs in his fibula and foot during the first quarter of the Magpies 80-point loss.
“I hope that’s not my last game,” Swan said from Melbourne Airport.
“If I’m out for the year then I’ll have to think about it (retirement).
“That’s the worst case scenario. I’d like to get back at some stage.”
Swan landed with his right leg trapped awkwardly underneath his body during a marking contest early in the first quarter against the Swans.
He remained on the SCG turf clutching his leg before being helped from the ground.
“I tried to get back up and realised that something wasn’t right,” he recalled.
“I went back down and that was it really.”
“This will be the most I’ve ever missed. It happens to everyone at some stage.
“I’ll just deal with it. I’ll carry on, I’ll keep busy.”
