The Magpies Learning Centre utilises the club’s elite facilities and in-house expertise to deliver inspirational education experiences and valuable employment pathways.
The centre offers a range of vocational training courses, seminars, conferences, adult courses and special experiences for individuals and organisations.
Our vocational education and training courses provide qualifications in a range of fields including sport, recreation, fitness and hospitality.
We partner with leading training organisations to deliver exceptional training that results in genuine qualifications and employment opportunities.

High Performance Fitness Course
SportsReady Education’s Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30313) & Certificate IV Fitness (SIS40210)
The Magpies Learning Centre in partnership with SportsReady Education is launching a new High Performance Fitness Course to be hosted at the club’s elite sports training complex at Olympic Park.
Positions for Certificate III and Certificate IV in Fitness are now available to students who are seeking career opportunities and qualifications in the sports, recreation and fitness industry.
The Magpies Learning Centre is based at the Holden Centre, Collingwood’s magnificent training and administration facilities located in the heart of Olympic Park, the world’s premier sports and events precinct.
Collingwood’s state of the art training complex incorporates presentation suites; a 150 seat lecture theatre; the latest in cardio and strength equipment and sports technology; altitude training; fitness testing; sports science; swimming and hydrotherapy pools; boxing ring; indoor sprung floor training zone and 50m running track, international netball court; lockers and showers; and exclusive access to the magnificent Olympic Park Oval.
SportsReady educators lead the program which also features guest presentations from Collingwood’s High Performance Team including Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Exercise Physiologists, Dieticians, Movement Specialists, Sports Scientists and players.
Program participants will also have the opportunity to experience Collingwood’s training sessions, match day operations at the MCG and gain an insight into the club’s High Performance Fitness Program, providing exceptional learning experiences and exposure to the latest developments in sports science and fitness training.
The courses will be delivered in a positive, supportive and fun environment and will commence in April 2016.
SportsReady Education will provide all students with outstanding tuition and individual support, links to further education, and career support through an extensive network of fitness organisations.
Course presenters include Collingwood’s High performance Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Exercise Physiologists, Dieticians, Movement Specialists, Sports Scientists and leading players.

Olympic Park Precinct
Olympic Park and its surrounds form an incredible sports and events precinct, the biggest in the world. Millions of visitors attend the precinct each year to watch major sports events and cultural events and music concerts.
The Holden Centre was originally built as the swimming venue for the Melbourne Olympic Games and is the last remaining major venue still intact from the 1956 Games. It retains an important place in Melbourne’s rich sporting culture. It now houses Collingwood’s elite administration offices and gymnasium training facility.
The new event and community complex called The Glasshouse, after the nickname for the old Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Centre - the home of the 1956 Olympic Swimming Pool - provides magnificent new community infrastructure for Australia’s premier sports and entertainment precinct.
The precinct’s major sporting venues include Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, the Westpac Centre, Hisense Arena and AAMI Park along with a range of sports ovals at Gosch’s Paddock, tennis courts at Melbourne Park.
These venues are directly adjacent to the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Birrarung Mar and the Melbourne CBD, The Yarra River and Yarra River Bike Trails, The Botanic Gardens and Botanic Gardens Tan Track, The Yarra River Rowing Clubs and the Myer Music Bowl.
The myriad of sports events in the precinct include the Australian Open, Australian Rules Football, Soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Netball, Cycling and Rowing. Elite sporting teams located or playing matches within the precinct include the Collingwood Football Club, Melbourne Storm, Melbourne Vixens, Melbourne Demons, Melbourne Victory, Melbourne Heart and the Melbourne Rebels.
