Dayne Beams was delighted after rejoining Collingwood during the closing stages of Wednesday’s NAB AFL Trade Period.
The Lions agreed to trade Beams and picks 41 and 44 in this year’s draft to the Pies in exchange for two first-round selections (one to be used this year and one next year).
“It’s been a really draining day for myself,” the 28-year-old told collingwoodfc.com.au after the deal went through.
“I’m a little bit tired but I’m super-stoked to be back home.
“My heart’s always been with this footy club, and I’ve got to thank the club for allowing me to go back to Brisbane four years ago and spend some time with my dad.
“But I’m super-happy now.
“The family and I can’t wait to get back to Melbourne and get stuck back into training with the guys.
“I’m extremely grateful to be back home.”
A message from the man of the hour. Welcome back to Magpieland, Beamsy! #FOREVER pic.twitter.com/v7qhSASToM
