Rocca played 84% of the game and collected nine possessions and three marks. The big man was involved in several contests including a spectacular contested mark midway through the second quarter.
“I forgot how hard those boys hit,” Rocca told CTV after Wednesday’s training at Gosch’s Paddock.
“I am feeling pretty good right now. I took a nice hit to the back of the head and felt a bit queasy after that but managed to run out most of the game and was really excited to be back there.”
After playing for the VFL side in round one, Rocca played his first AFL match since injuring his ankle in round 13 last year.
“I am a frustrated supporter when I am watching. I get quite vocal and quite frustrated so it was really good to share in the camaraderie of the team. It’s what I have been missing over the past few months.”
The 239-gamer admitted that there were a few areas he needs to work on before tackling Essendon at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
“There were a couple of times under pressure and in a contest where I didn’t handle the ball that well and that’s one thing I want to rectify this weekend.”
This week’s ANZAC Day match will be Rocca’s 10th appearance in the blockbuster.
“It’s a great day and a great tradition and an honour to play in it. We are privileged that many people in the early century did a lot for us to have freedom in our country. Hopefully we can have an enjoyable win.”
