Paul Robinson is one of the men behind the cult social media channels 'The Carlton Draft' and 'The Ressies Footballer'

His Black and White passion is unquestionable, and the views represented in this article are solely his own and not representative of the Collingwood Football Club.

Okay, so the 2017 season hasn’t started the way fans would have hoped.

Not ideal, but seriously, think of any good sports movie… there has to be some adversity before the triumph.

In ‘Mighty Ducks’, Gordon Bombay didn’t take over as coach of a star-studded side and conquer the world. No, they had to overcome things like Charlie Conway being a sook and a horrible skater before they achieved greatness.

In years to come, the first two rounds for Collingwood’s 2017 EVENTUAL 20-2 premiership season will be known as the ‘Mighty Ducks period’, and the feel-good part of the film starts when we win the ‘Schauble Shield’ this Friday night.

Can the Magpies challenge their inner Mighty Ducks against the Swans on Friday night?

Even though Sydney’s history is tarnished with things like Doc Edelsten’s pink helicopter and the sandpit that is ANZ Stadium, the COLA Swans have become quite a successful club over the years.

Two premierships from five Grand Final appearances in twelve years is a testament to a strong club culture, and who do they have to thank?

That’s right, us. We’ve given them some of our best and brightest over the years for no other reason than to support equalization and the expansion of the game.

Think back to all the names who have swapped the Black and White for that atrocious red and white jumper over the years. Andrew Schauble, Paul Williams, Nick Davis and Robbie AhMat to mention a few.

And of course, without our generosity there’d be no ‘Mark Orchard Medal’ awarded to the player judged best on ground on Friday night.

Both clubs are 0-2, but we need this victory more.

If the Swans win, what do they really gain? Their handful of supporters can go and party the night away… or for a whole seventeen minutes before all the pubs and clubs shut? Spare me!

Lock these predictions away and throw out the key – Alex Fasolo will kick four (on his way to the Brownlow/Coleman double) and Sam Naismith will follow Brodie Grundy around like a work experience kid looking for tips and pointers all night.

Make no mistake fellow Pie fans, when you see Steele Sidebottom walking a lap of the SCG with the ‘Orchard’ around his neck, you’ll know we’re on the board and ready to go all the way in 2017.

Who will take home the Schauble Shield on Friday night? We don't know. And neither does Rocket.
