Senior Coach Craig McRae spoke to the media on Monday ahead of our trip to Brisbane for the Easter Thursday clash.

After ruckman Darcy Cameron's injury on Friday night, the question on everyone's lips is who will take over the ruck duties in his absence.

"We were lucky on Friday night we got a sample size without a ruckman", noted McRae. "We're not just going to say one person, I reckon we'll just have to carry the load. I like being creative so we'll get to match committee and look at some options."

"We feared the worst to be honest, we thought it might be an ACL. I'm a positive guy, we'll look forward to having him back in 8-10 weeks. We'll have a few returning around that time so that will be good."

Dynamic forward Nathan Kreuger is tracking well for a return to matches in the coming weeks.

"Kreugs is only a couple of weeks away. He's training really well, I think he might get a bit of match play at some stage this week and maybe a bit more the week after. We'll see where we're at."

Fly also provided an update on Mason Cox's injury.

"Mason's got two weeks until another scan. We won't know [about a return date] until we get that two-week scan."

After returning to football through the VFL this weekend, Jack Ginnivan impressed Fly.

"I think he did enough...he looked like an AFL player at VFL level."

However it was first-year players Jakob Ryan and Ed Allen that really caught Fly's attention.

"I must admit, Jakob Ryan and Ed Allen looked really impressive. Those two kids are going to be really good for us in the future."

"I really love both of those lads. They'll play AFL footy this year if opportunity presents. They're playing at a level that just asks questions."

Fly was asked about young forward Reef McInnes who played VFL on the weekend after being the sub in the AFL for the first two rounds.

"His magnet will be around the mark somewhere. We'll weigh up what that looks like...we'll see where he fits."

It will be a massive game against Brisbane on Thursday night.

"It's a fantastic occasion, the crowd will come. We're under no illusion that they're hard to beat up there. I don't know how many home games they've lost in the last few years but it wouldn't be many. It's going to be a great game."
