We asked the 18-year-old drafted from Glenelg a few hard hitting questions on his first day at the club.
Explain the instagram handle? (@jakobgreekfreakryan)
"My username was jakobgreekfreakjamessicilyryan... I love Giannas Antetokounmpo and James Sicily. I had to take out Sicily so I don't look like too much of a fan boy."
What's the plan for the move to Melbourne?
"I wouldn't mind staying with a player, that would be a pretty cool experience. I know some players stay with Jack Crisp and that would be pretty cool but I don't want to get in his way. I'll probably live with a host family so they can help me with cooking, I think I'll be coming home pretty tired after training."
Do you have a favourite conspiracy theory?
"After watching Stranger Things maybe another universe or something. UFOs and stuff... I've started believing in that."
Dream dinner party guest?
"I've gotta say Giannas Antetokounmpo and James Sicily, I'm a big fan of those two."
Favourite music genre?
"I'd say rap."
Which team did you support growing up?
"Hawthorn. I was actually Bulldogs when I was really young but I made a bet with my dad when I was about four and since then I've been a Hawks man."
Who is your all-time favourite player?
"Favourite of all time in the AFL is Tony Modra - his highlights are sick. My favourite Collingwood player was (Peter) Daicos, of course."
What are you most looking forward to about playing for Collingwood?
"The fans. Hopefully I'm lucky enough to play in front of 100,000 at the 'G. I've heard the culture is really good here too so I'm really excited to meet all the boys."
Any guilty pleasures?
"I have a massive sweet tooth to be honest. I've always gotta have ice cream."
What did you love about where you grew up?
"Adelaide is not too busy but not too quiet, it's the perfect size. I'm really excited about Melbourne though."
Best advice you ever received from a junior coach?
"To focus on the one percenters, that's somethig that definitely helped my game."
