Nick Daicos will make his AFL debut on Friday night, becoming the 45th father-son to represent Collingwood since 1892.
Selected as pick 4 at the 2021 NAB AFL Draft, the 18-year-old carries a name synonymous with the club and his 31-disposal performance in our AAMI Community Series match against the Giants (at 74 percent efficiency, no less) cemented his spot in our round one side.
Peter Daicos becomes only the eighth former player to have produced more than one son drafted to the club, joining Bill Twomey Snr (3), David Cloke (3) and Charlie Pannam Snr, Syd Coventry, Brian Beers, Ray Shaw and Gavin Brown (all 2).
Josh and Nick become the 47th combination of siblings who have both have played senior footy for CFC.
Versatile midfielder Patrick Lipinski will also make his debut in the black and white in round one.
The 23-year-old has trained fully this week after rolling his ankle against Greater Western Sydney.
