THE COLLINGWOOD Football Club can confirm that in response to recent personal issues, Simon Buckley will be required to undertake counselling.
He has agreed to pay the full cost of damage he caused to his ex-girlfriend’s car.
The club has suspended him from selection for three weeks.
As a member club of the AFL, the Collingwood Football Club fully supports the AFL's Respect and Responsibility policy, and insists that all its players adhere strictly to the standards of the program.
Buckley, 23, is yet to play a senior game for Collingwood after being selected by the club with the 85th overall pick in the 2009 AFL Draft. Prior to that, he played 21 games for Melbourne from 2006-2009 after originally being drafted by the Demons from the Sandringham Dragons at the end of 2005.
