Collingwood has consolidated its backline group for 2022 with John Noble, Jack Madgen and Tom Wilson all signing new deals with the club.
Noble has signed a two-year deal that will see him in the black and white until the end of 2023, whilst Madgen and Wilson will remain at the club for another season.
At 24-years-old Noble has played 44 games and kicked four goals for the Pies since his debut in round 17 against West Coast in 2019.
Madgen was recruited as a category B rookie in 2017. The former NBL player has made 40 appearances across four seasons with the Pies.
In a similar fashion, Wilson was selected as a rookie in 2019 and formerly represented Australia in the national basketball team, the Boomers. The 24-year-old made his AFL debut in round 9 this year, against Sydney, and went on to play four games.
Wilson’s football progress was recognised when he won the Jack Hellier award for best VFL clubman at the club’s recent E.W. Copeland Trophy count.
“We are pleased to reward John with another two years and Jack with another season. Both boys played a key role in the Pies’ backline this year,” Collingwood GM of Football, Graham Wright, said.
“Tom has proven himself in the VFL and has shown great promise at AFL level. He returned to the game at a time when it was hard to play consistent VFL football because of the coronavirus but matured greatly as a player this year and we see him as part of the group of young players in our program that are pushing through.”
