Ex-Pies go around again
Six former Collingwood players will return to the field to raise money for prostate cancer research in the annual E.J. Whitten Legends Game on Tuesday night.
Mainstays Paul Licuria, Tarkyn Lockyer and Damian Monkhorst and once-were-Magpies Dermott Brereton, Jason McCartney and Mal Michael will all be heading back out onto Etihad Stadium in the 19th annual match between some of the AFL's past players.
Licuria, Monkhorst, Brereton and McCartney will be representing Victoria while Lockyer and Michael will don the red and gold for the All Stars.
Head-to-head, Victoria holds sway with nine wins. The All Stars has eight wins to its name, with one draw in 2000.
The match is played in the memory of Edward James "Ted" Whitten, who played 228 games for Footscray between 1957 and 1971. Whitten's passion for state football, and in particular the Big V, remains legendary.
The match will be broadcast on the Nine Network at 8.30pm.
