Collingwood will link with Port Adelaide to honour the late John McCarthy when the two sides meet in 2013.

The two clubs are scheduled to play on a Saturday evening at AAMI Stadium in round 14. McCarthy’s name will be linked to a cause and a charity that will benefit from funds raised on the night.

McCarthy, who played 18 games for Collingwood between 2008 and 2011, passed away in Las Vegas on 10 September.

He played 21 games for the Power in 2012.

The Power have developed a program of tributes to honour McCarthy during the 2013 season which can be found here.
