Friday training report
Collingwood held its final training session at Gosch's Paddock ahead of the semi final on Saturday night.
Strong winds confronted the players and coaching staff throughout the duration of the session.
It commenced with a warm up lap around the paddock followed by a short kicking drill.
Collingwood’s forward coach, Paul Hudson, conducted a drill involving the midfielders delivering the ball inside the forward 50 to lead up targets.
Tarkyn Lockyer, Leon Davis and Alan Didak fed the ball to forward targets Travis Cloke, John Anthony and Chris Dawes.
Brent Macaffer, set to play his fourth AFL match on Saturday night, worked his way through the defensive and attacking groups. The 21-year-old, who played as a forward in his three senior matches this year, has spent the last month playing in defence in the VFL.
The session concluded with a short divisional workout consisting of the coaching staff seperating the 25 players (includes three emergencies) into several groups to work through specific positional exercises.
Cameron Wood worked on his tap out technique with Steele Sidebottom and Dale Thomas trying to gain first usage.
Wood was substituted by Leigh Brown in the closing minutes indicating the 27-year-old will pinch hit in the ruck on the weekend.
The session was conducted for just under an hour with the players running off with the Magpie Army cheering in support.
The players run a warm up lap of the ground.
Final session for the week is conducted with the MCG on the background.
Leigh Brown practices his kicking while Nick Maxwell goes back with the flight of the ball.
Tarkyn Lockyer sharpens his inside 50 deliveries.
