Paul is an interesting character.
He has outstanding abilities and possess a wonderful mark and a beautiful kick for goal. It would be fair to say through his career he had highs and lows, not about his abilities, but about his mindset and focus.
Click here to send your messages of appreciation to the two former Magpies. He is one of the most amazing people to meet. I really enjoy his company. We had a lot of things off field that were common to us.
He is the polar opposite, in many respects, to Tarkyn Lockyer. He played football to get the best out of himself but football wasn’t the be all and end all.
At 28 he has several years left in footy but he has also got a calling outside of football where he wants to spend his life doing other things.
He got on very well with people. I am delighted we were able to get him over here and play for Collingwood.I am not surprised and very happy for him that he made a decision and left something in the tank and people will remember how good he is.
You appreciate honesty.
I wish him all the best in his new part of his life.
