* The Pies' win meant they had beaten Essendon twice in a season for the first time since 2012. It is quite the turnaround from last year, when Collingwood lost to the Bombers on ANZAC Day and again in round 16.
* Steele Sidebottom finished the game with 28 disposals, in the process taking his season's tally to 460. That places him third in the AFL for disposals. The top two are Hawthorn's Tom Mitchell (523) and West Coast's Andrew Gaff (464).
* High-flying defender Jeremy Howe tallied a team-high nine marks in the win over the Bombers. He has now taken 107 marks for the season, the fourth-most in the competition.
* Star ruckman Brodie Grundy leads the way for the Pies when it comes to free kicks. Grundy has received the most free kicks of all Collingwood players (39), but he is also No. 1 at the club for free kicks against (24).
* Grundy is second in the competition when it comes to AFL Fantasy points this season. His combined fantasy scores total 1809 points, an average of 120.9 per game.

* As has been the case for the much of the season, Collingwood is the No. 1 team in the AFL when it comes to disposals. The Pies have totalled 6169 disposals, an average of 411.3 per game. Melbourne is next-best (5896, at an average of 393.1 per game).
