With a relatively healthy list, the selection committee have a number of good headaches for the clash against Carlton on Thursday night.
Collingwood's VFL side were put to the test by Footscray last week, with the Pies getting across the line by 9 points. A number of players put together strong performances and are in the mix to take on Carlton.
See below for who is a chance to be elevated to the senior side.
Steele Sidebottom
An almost a certain starter for the Blues. As declared by Pies High Performance Manager Kevin White, the vice-captain is available for selection after recovering from a calf injury. Sidebottom will have to get through a captains run on Wednesday to be locked in.
Chris Mayne
Bounced back for his first game since a head knock at training through the VFL against Footscray.
Callum Brown
Emergency for round 1. If the Pies are looking for some speed and agility around the contest and up forward, Brown could be a handy option.
Nathan Murphy
Arguably best on ground in the Footscray game. After not much luck with injury the past few years, Murphy's chance looks to be around the corner.
Finlay Macrae
An impressive performance in VFL match against Footscray through the midfield, this was Macrae's first match in sometime after the year that was 2020.
Levi Greenwood
Similarly to the others, performed strongly in the VFL clash. Greenwood's grunt and leadership was evident on the day.
Beau Mccreery
Put together a quality game against Footscray, booting goals from outside 50m and taking strong marks. Confidence looks to be high and could relish at the top level when his chance comes.
Darcy Cameron
Clunking strong marks and kicking plenty of goals at training and in the VFL. Could three talls down forward work? We'll leave that up to the coaches.
Jay Rantall
Among the bests in VFL game. With a second pre-season under his belt a debut could be nearing.
