Collingwood welcomes back Daniel Wells and Jack Madgen for the Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash against Sydney at the SCG on Friday night.

Wells makes his long-awaited return to the senior side after injuring his foot at the MCG in the Queen’s Birthday game last year.

After building consistent form in the VFL, the 34-year-old gets an opportunity to pull on the indigenous guernsey designed by Travis Varcoe’s sister-in-law.

“I’m going to wear it with as much pride as possible. A lot of work has gone into it, a lot of thought and a lot of love. I can't wait to try do it justice,” Wells said.

Madgen has been elevated to the senior list to replace Lynden Dunn who has been placed on the long-term injury list.

The tall defender has impressed in the VFL in recent weeks and will play a vital role in the absence of Darcy Moore and Tom Langdon.

Jordan De Goey and Taylor Adams both trained at the Holden Centre on Wednesday but were unable to prove their fitness for selection.

The first bounce is set for 7.50pm, with the SCG expected to attract 40,000 fans.

Isaac Quaynor and Josh Daicos are the travelling emergencies. If not required to play, the pair will return to Melbourne and line up in the VFL on Saturday.

Mason Cox (ankle), Jamie Elliott (hamstring) and Darcy Moore (ankle) were unavailable for selection.
