Collingwood urges supporters to stand Side By Side with the football community when the club’s VFL team takes on Geelong at Kardinia Park on Friday night.

The match marks the beginning of a fundraising drive that will help raise money for former Cats VFL player Casey Tutungi who was recently diagnosed as a quadriplegic after an accident during a local football match.

Geelong has pledged to donate the gate receipts from Friday’s game to the Casey Tutungi Future Fund.

Alan Didak and Quinten Lynch are tipped to make their return from injury on Friday night, making it the perfect opportunity for fans from both sides to come together to support Tutungi and watch a high quality game of football.

Further fundraising efforts, this time focusing on local footy, will take place on the weekend of July 27-28.

The competitions around the Barwon region, including the Geelong league, Bellarine league, Geelong and District league and Colac and District league, have pledged to support a "Coming together for Casey" round.

Clubs in those competitions will contribute to the Casey Tutungi Future Fund by holding functions and encouraging their players and members to make donations.

Other clubs across the nation are also being urged to support the cause.

The 10 clubs that raise the most money across the weekend of July 27-28 will go into a draw to become an AFL club for a day during their 2014 pre-season.
