Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley was frustrated with his team's performance, saying they were sloppy around the ball and gifted Brisbane too many goals.
"You've got to find a way and Brisbane were able to find a way tonight, and I thought we helped them," Buckley said.
"We're frustrated tonight but we're confident if we meet this opposition again we'd be confident we can perform better."
Buckley was pleased with his young brigade, highlighting the outings of John Noble (23 disposals), Josh Daicos (25), Jack Madgen (19) and Isaac Quaynor (14) as huge positives.
"We've got some great belief in how we go about it, but we didn't do the basics right," he said.
"The execution was a fair way off, but the endeavour was there.
"We think we've got a bit more to say about it and can do a lot better."
