After a second straight week featuring 13 individual goal kickers, Magpie defender Alan Toovey believes his side is producing a well-balanced attack proving difficult to shut down by opposition teams.
In Saturday's win at the MCG, North Melbourne's defenders had trouble containing Collingwood's spread of forward options.
“It was definitely a solid performance by everyone,” Toovey told CTV in the rooms after the win.
“We had guys kicking goals from the backline, the midfield and up forward.”
The 23-year-old added his name to the goal kicking list for the second time this year, capitalising on a Kangaroo turnover midway through the first term.
“I snuck in for a goal which is always nice. Hopefully I can continue to make the most of those opportunities when they come up.

“It’s not something which I plan but more in the right place at the right time.”
While the match ended with the Magpies winning by a comfortable 66 point margin, Toovey was disappointed with several of the goals conceded by the back six.
“There were a lot of goals that were pretty soft. I thought they (North Melbourne) did it pretty easily. We will go through our tapes to see how we can stop those goals coming in. A win is a win so we are pretty happy.”
Picked up in the 2005 rookie draft (overall pick 2), Toovey is two games shy of notching his 50th career match after cementing a spot in the defensive unit this year.

“The backline is going pretty well and it’s a good place to be at the moment. I think I have been going OK and playing my role each week so I hope to keep playing.”
The Magpies are off to their best start since 1993 and are poised to end the weekend sitting atop the ladder due to a healthy percentage (146.39%).

“We are getting used to winning now so hopefully it stays that way. There is a good feeling around the club.”
