DYNAMO Leon Davis said a straight sets exit for the Magpies would be a devastating end to their season.

Davis, speaking from Lexus Centre on Tuesday, said Collingwood had already ticked off claiming the double-chance, but to not win this Saturday night against the Crows would be a shattering end to an otherwise fine 2009.

"Our aim was to finish top four and we did that," he said. "Once finals come around, it's a totally different ball game.

"If we lose this week, which we definitely hope we don't, but if we do, we'll be very disappointed we didn't go all the way and win a flag, so we'll be very disappointed."

Davis conceded it was a tough day at the office last Sunday against St Kilda, when Collingwood went down by 28 points at the MCG, but he acknowledged the Saints' outstanding season.

"Yeah it was. St Kilda is a great side, so that's why they finished on top," he said.

"They showed on the weekend exactly why they finished on top … and why they've only lost two games this year. They really did close the game up and they played really well."

The Pies will be without classy midfielder Scott Pendlebury, who will be sidelined with a broken leg. Davis said it was a massive task for the Collingwood midfield without Pendlebury.

"We've got a good number of players who can play midfield, but he's going to be a massive loss," he said.

"He's a key part to our midfield, so he will be missed, but we move on and that's the great thing about team sport – it's a team game and it's not all about individuals, so hopefully we can fill the void there and come out and play well."
