Collingwood’s 2010 premiership has been stylised and immortalised by world-famous artist Jamie Cooper at the request of the club.

Cooper, who has painted an array of sporting moments including Collingwood’s Team of the Century and the 1990 premiership locker-room scene (both hang in the Westpac Cetnre boardroom), has been working on the 2010 piece for the last three months.

Magpie skipper Nick Maxwell sat down with Cooper in the preliminary stages of the work to make sure the artist captured every nuance in the side’s premiership 22.

Collingwoodfc.com.au will be publishing several updates of the piece in the lead up to its unveiling in late June.Supporters can secure a limited edition print now.  Pre-purchase the 2010 premiership locker-room scene.

Jamie Cooper’s description of the premiership locker-room scene

The all conquering Magpies of 2010, unveiled here in their moment of glory.

The scene is the change rooms at the MCG, October 2nd 2010, when the lid came off.

Some features included in the painting;

Sharrod Wellingham celebrates as usual with his iPod on full blast.

Daisy Thomas jumps for joy with his usual enthusiasm, while Harry O is already sharing the moment on Twitter.

The brains trust of captain, coach and president, join arms with Leon Davis who was so much a part of the 2010 season and symbolises the entire list that contributed to this great victory.

Chris Dawes towers above them all with another bottle of bubbly as norm smith medalist Scott Pendlebury sums up what it is all about with a private moment with the precious Premiership Cup.
