COLLINGWOOD forward Travis Cloke says he now has complete confidence in his goalkicking despite public criticism of his inaccuracy.
Cloke had five goals, 17 possessions and seven marks in Collingwood's 36-point win over Fremantle on Friday night.
The 23-year-old proved too good for opponents Adam McPhee and Chris Tarrant, taking his 2010 tally to 16 goals from eight games after 22 goals and 26 behinds for the whole of last season.
"You always like to play well and kick a few goals being a forward. You want to do that and have team success, so to have that on the same night is always nice. I feel pretty good," Cloke said.
"I know that the goalkicking has been well publicised about not being great, but I'm feeling really good about it. I feel confident that no matter where I am I should be able to nail it.
"I've done a lot of work on it, so I'm hoping to continue getting some rewards."
Cloke said Collingwood's impressive interstate record - 12 victories from its last 14 games - meant it held no fears when facing a confident Fremantle side in Perth.
"We made the big long trip over here knowing Freo was in good form and had been playing well, and it was a top of the table game, so there was a bit of anxiety and pressure out in the game," he said.
"We did know that the crowd was going to be massive because Freo has a big following and they were still cheering loud in the last quarter.
"It's really impressive to see the boys come over here after a four-hour flight, play a good game of footy and now we'll get ready for next Friday night's game."
Collingwood faces reigning premier Geelong at the MCG in a rematch of last year's preliminary final which the Cats won by 73 points.
Cloke said his side's previous failure would not be used as added motivation, but that any win over Geelong would be one to savour.
"We'll watch them over the weekend to see how they go and get ourselves right. It will be a great game, they are in good form and I'm looking forward to the clash," Cloke said.
"We are looking forward to playing them and let's hope it's a really good game to watch, and that we come away with the win.
"We definitely want to win and don't want a bad record against a side especially when they are the premiers.
"Let's hope it turns next week for us."
