YOU PUT YOUR RIGHT FOREARM IN,
YOU PUT YOUR RIGHT FOREARM OUT,
YOU PUT YOUR RIGHT FOREARM IN,
AND YOU SHAKE IT ALL ABOUT,
YOU DO THE HALLY POKEY,
AND YOU GET RUBBED OUT,
THAT’S WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT.

Or to put it another way...

THE COST OF LOVING ALLOWANCE

It wasn’t too long ago that your long suffering author had a real bee in his bonnet about the Sydney Swans ridiculous salary cap advantage the AFL so earnestly defended due to the supposed cost of living north of the border.

Just mention the COL and I’d cut up rough quicker than the wings at Homebush last Saturday night.

It basically meant that if used properly those mono rail riding, Manly ferrying, candy apple cornutus could prop up their side with two extra quality players each season compared to mere mortal teams.

Well, dear Spudsters, I’m no plastic surgeon but I’ve had a big about face.

We’ve clearly got to keep them propped up for as long as possible.
They are a wonderful asset to the league and fabulous ambassadors of the code in Australia’s biggest city.

As for Big Bad Bazza, he’s not a thug.
He’s just misunderstood.
All this hoo-ha over his over zealous arm gesticulation is just another typical example of a media driven witch hunt.

If anybody is to blame for his latest indiscretion it is clearly Sensible Shane Wakelin.

Ever since SSW gave his motor the flick and started using public transport he’s been wearing sensible shoes and that, according to CSI: Lexusland, is where the problem is.

You see if SSW had been wearing UNsensible shoes, like the ones Gene Simmons wears during KISS concerts, the extra foot and a half would have meant it would have been nothing more than a push in the chest rather than a forearm jolt in the moosh vicinity.

If Wakes really does care about the environment, you know the one where the Swans can’t beat the Pies, he’d issue an unreserved public apology.

How about it Shane?
We need Bazza back for the round 21 clash!
