Over 150 children in grades five and six from six metropolitan primary schools descended on Gosch’s Paddock to participate in Collingwood’s annual Multicultural Schools Cup last Thursday.

The children participated in a round-robin competition and hail from schools that have participated in a six-week school based program delivered by Collingwood Multicultural Officer Yusuf Qaafow.

The participating schools were Holy Name Primary School, Preston Primary School, Bundoora Primary School, Thomastown Meadows Primary School, Yarra Primary School and Lalor Primary School.

Holy Name Primary School defeated Preston Primary School in the boys’ competition, while Preston overcame Holy Name in the girls’ competition.

Collingwood premiership player Brent Macaffer was on hand to present the award to the respective winners.

Collingwood would like to thank SEDA and Bega for their support on the day.
