The Wandin Football Club visits the Westpac Centre.
The Wandin Football Club is the latest club to spend an evening at the Westpac Centre to take part in an Elite Training Session.
Training at Collingwood’s headquarters, Wandin, who compete in the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League, traded in the cold and wet conditions of the mountains for a night on the sprung floor, in the pools and ice baths and in the gym before going through their weekly review in the Magpies’ theatrette.
Up to 45 senior players took part in the training session, which will hopefully give the club a boost ahead of the Division 1 Finals. The club currently sits in third position.
Assistant Coach Ben Russian thanked Collingwood for the use of the facilities.
“Everyone who attended had a great time and really got something out of it.
“I think it is going to hold us in good stead as all three football teams head into finals over the next three weeks”.
Collingwood would also like to congratulate playing coach Jarrod Bayliss (ex-Box Hill Hawks) on recently being named on the wing in the All-Australian team at the Australian Country Football Championships. It was a terrific effort from Bayliss (pictured below, right) who showed some outstanding form with Vic Country 2 throughout the four days of the carnival.
