Collingwood won its sixth game in a row when it overcame a red hot Adelaide by 26-points at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night.

The win was Collingwood's 14th from its last 15 on the road, stretching back to the 2008 Elimination Final win over the Crows.

Dayne Beams was outstanding in the midfield, gathering 36 possessions. He was well supported by Steele Sidebottom (31 possessions), Scott Pendlebury (29 possessions) and Dale Thomas (29 possessions). The only downside was the knee injury suffered by Lachlan Keeffe midway through the final quarter.

Harry O'Brien bounds out of defence for one of his 18 possessions.

Dayne Beams' purple patch continued as he bullocked his way to 36 possessions.

Tyson Goldsack's tackle on Rory Sloane typifies the intensity on the night. There was not one easy possession to be found.

With 29 hitouts, Darren Jolly was the dominant big man on the ground.

In lounge rooms across Australia, Collingwood supporters were asking "Where did this guy come from?" Marley Williams is from North Albany, four hours south of Perth. And on the evidence of Saturday night, he can play.

It was mate v mate at AAMI Stadium as Nathan Buckley and Brenton Sanderson, one-time housemates during their time at Victoria Park, clashed for four points for the first time.

Hard balls, uncontested balls, in the air, on the ground. Pendles did it all on his way to 29 possessions.

Collingwood fans across the country would have been mimicking Nick Maxwell's hands-on-hips as Ricky Henderson put Adelaide two kicks clear late in the third quarter.

It was like he was moving in slow motion, yet Pendles still managed to slip Adelaide's Nathan van Berlo...

...and kick another clutch goal - the first of the last quarter.

Unfortunately it didn't all go to plan in the final term. Lachlan Keeffe, one of the finds of the season at full back, was stretchered off with what appears to be a serious knee injury.

Someone's been spending a few late nights on the couch watching the English Premier League! Sharrod Wellingham soccered home the sealer from 25m.

Going head to head with Adelaide dynamo Patrick Dangerfield, Dale Thomas was pivotal in the final term. He amassed 29 disposals and seven tackles for the evening in his second game back after injury.

He's rarely without a smile, but Steele Sidebottom had every reason to grin when he put some icing on the cake with a banana from the boundary with seconds remaining.
