Will Collingwood salute its ninth ever Brownlow Medallist tonight?

A number of Magpies have enjoyed stellar seasons, but none more so than midfield maestros Dane Swan and Scott Pendlebury.

Below is a summary of how each performed throughout the season, and which games they may have attracted the umpires’ attention.

Both players are proven vote-winners. Swan went into last year’s count the raging favourite but finished third with 24 votes, six behind winner Chris Judd, while Pendlebury was one place further back with 21 votes.

Both tallies would be a chance to win in some years.

This year Swan won three media awards as the competition’s best player, so there were many out there who rated his season very highly, while Pendlebury is at short odds for tonight’s count.
